Cesvi is an international aid organization responding to humanitarian crises and disasters, working to alleviating poverty and supporting sustainable development for the last 35 years. Cesvi operates around the world under the pillars of social justice and respect of human rights to bring about positive change in the most vulnerable communities. Cesvi’s work in Pakistan began with rehabilitation and WASH support to communities affected by the massive earthquake in 2005. Cesvi has since directly benefitted over 2.6 million people through multi-sectoral humanitarian and development interventions in the shelter, WASH, food security and livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, health, and skills development. Working in hard-to-reach and often neglected areas of Pakistan, such as the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Cesvi has accumulated a wealth of knowledge about the local operational contexts and developed strong ties with the communities; with programs ranging from earthquake and flood responses, assisting Temporarily Displaced Persons, helping returnee families settle back in with dignity, to tackling a novel crisis in the form of a global pandemic.
